Overview
The income tax department's recently released app, AIS for Taxpayer, allows taxpayers to now read the Annual Information Statement (AIS) on their smartphones. The app is free of cost and is available on Google Play and App Store. It aims to give the taxpayer a thorough understanding of the AIS/TIS by displaying the data gathered from numerous sources about the taxpayer.
Features of AIS
Inclusion of various detailed taxpayer information. (Interest, dividends, securities transactions, mutual fund transactions, information on foreign remittances, and so on.)
AIS provides information in PDF, JSON, and CSV file formats.
The PDF document is password protected. The password for accessing the downloaded PDF is a combination of your PAN in small followed by your birth date (DDMMYYYY)
How to access an AIS application?
Simply navigate to the Google Play Store or the Apple App Store.
Search for the AIS app for taxpayers
The AIS app can be downloaded by clicking the install icon.
The taxpayer must confirm the email address and mobile phone number listed on his or her profile.
He/she can set a 4-digit PIN after successfully entering the OTP.
With just one click, the taxpayer can now view full tax and TDS details.
